Abstract: Eddy covariance (EC) is a micrometeorological method able to provide high-frequency measurements of gas, energy, and momentum exchanges between ecosystems and atmosphere. The method is mainly based on an infrared gas analyzer (IRGA) and a 3D sonic (SON) anemometer. EC was widely applied over different ecosystems worldwide, primarily used for obtaining information at ecosystem scale on the integrated productivity and health status, rather than focusing on a single component and carbon pool (e.g., soil, below and aboveground biomass). Eddy covariance application over three different system (landfill, pasture and olive orchard) was reported in the presentation. Specifically, raw data were correlated with the main meteorological variables to find the main drivers of C-fluxes from these systems. Also, specific modelling approaches using EC raw data to reproduce C-fluxes dynamics in these systems under different climate-management conditions
