Research division:of Bioenergy, Bio-refinery and Green Chemistry (DTE-BBC). Research interest in production of bioenergy, bioproducts and biocatalysts, environmental risk assessment of RNA interfering applications.

October 2016 - December 2017. Postdoctoral researcher, Department of Plant, Soil and Food Science, University of Bari “Aldo Moro”. Investigation on characterization of MLO powdery mildew susceptibility in Cucurbitaceae by means of heterologous overexpression and molecular study of Apulian horticultural germplasm.

March - April 2016. Guest Researcher, Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, University of Copenhagen, within the framework of the Cost Action FA1208-id n° 010316-071368. Research interest in identification of zucchini MLO powdery mildew susceptibility factors and set-up of genome editing protocols for C. pepo.

Investigation on identification of genes of resistance and Research interests in susceptibility to ZYMV and powdery mildew in zucchini. Study of zucchini genome. Editing of plant genome using Crispr/Cas9 technology.

Main research topics

My research focuses on: the analysis of molecular markers for characterization of plant DNA diversity; the identification and the functional analysis of genes involved in powdery mildew in Cucurbitaceae; the molecular mechanisms of response to abiotic stresses (drought and high temperastures) in tomato; the genome editing using the CRISPR/Cas9 technology.
