Abstract: Nanomaterials gather increasing interest in plant science, particularly for the development of novel products as pesticides, fertilizers, biostimulants, nucleic acid delivery systems, or as components of sensors for precision agriculture. However, fundamental knowledge regarding uptake mechanisms and biological effects in plants remains limited. We undertake research activities with the objective of studying the biological impact of nanomaterials in plants. Additionally, employing biotechnological approaches, our Lab has developed protocols for the purification, characterization, and functional analysis of naturally occurring nanovesicles, which hold potential for plant defense and human health applications. During the seminar, a case study on plant-nanoparticle interactions will be presented to illustrate how nanomaterials impact plant transcriptome and development exploring the implications for seed priming. Furthermore, research endeavors concerning extracellular vesicles and their potential use for delivering biomolecules in agricultural and pharmaceutical sectors will be briefly elucidated
