Research interests: Phenotypic characteratizion of olive genetic resources, Evaluation of olive oil quality, Propagation and cultivation

Main focus: Current activities carried out on:

- Breeding of olive (Olea europaea L.);

- Phenotypic assessment of segregating cross progenies;

- Morphological and molecular characterization of varieties;

- Analysis of the qualitative characteristics of olive oil;

- Evaluation of local olive germplasm;

- Olive orchard management, pest and disease control, plant nutrition, etc.

2000 - 2006: Scientific coordinator of the study on local cultivars and ecotypes, morphology, agronomic behavior, oil quality, field trials in Italy and Slovenia, editing a catalogue of the local cultivars and ecotypes, European Programme of Cross Border Cooperation: Interreg 3 A Italy - Slovenia.

2005: Responsible for the Work Package 3 - Valorization of monocultivar olive oil and declared blends, RIOM project (Ricerca ed Innovazione per l’Olivicoltura Meridionale), Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (MIPAAF).
