Rosanna Mattossovich started her studies at the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the University of Naples “Federico II”, where she obtained Bachelor’s Degree in 2014 by making an experimental thesis on Microbiology. Then, she studied Molecular Biology in the same University and acquired the Master Degree in 2017 with an experimental thesis entitled “Use of Bacillus subtilis spores in the degradation of lignocellulosic biomass”.

In the period 2014-2017, she was involved in the research project BioPolis for the development of technologies in the sector of industrial biotechnologies, in collaboration with the Department of Biology of the University of Naples “Federico II and the Institute of Biosciences and Bioresources of the National Research Council of Naples (IBBR-CNR).

Since 2018, she is an Industrial Biotechnology PhD student working in the laboratory of the G. Perugino - A. Valenti research group (IBBR-CNR). During this period, she spent part of her training in the Department of Molecular Biology of the University Autonoma of Madrid (Spain) in the laboratory of Prof. Aurelio Hidalgo.

Currently she is involved in the study of the identification and/or the optimization of DNA protective/restorative molecules against the action of alkylating agents, in the analysis of enzymes from hyperthermophiles and their potential utilization as biotechnological tools.
