Main research topics

My research activity within the “Genomic and biotechnology of plant cytoplasmic organelles” group at CNR-IBBR in Portici is mainly focused on the investigation of chloroplast to nucleus communication by looking at plastid proteomics and metabolism changes in response to abiotic stresses.

Other interests are related to:

- identification of mitochondrial sequences underlying cytoplasmic male sterility in potato

- genetic variability of Solanaceae cytoplasmic genomes

- production of industrial proteins in higher plant chloroplasts

Other activities

  • Guest Editor for “Genetics, genomics and biotechnology of plant cytoplasmic organelles” Special Issue of Plants
  • Reviewer for International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Mitochondrial DNA Part B, PeerJ, Plants, Foods, Australian Journal of Crop Science
