CURRICULUM VITAE

Personal Information

In 1980 at the Institute “Preziosissimo Sangue” of Bari, she obtained her high school diploma as Linguistic License.

From 1981 to 2000 she worked at Institute of Germplasm of CNR with fixed-term contracts.
In 2001 she was hired as permanent technician at IBBR-CNR, former IGV-CNR of Bari

Major Work Activities

Since 1981 her field of interest has always been the “ex situ” collections of plant seeds of agricultural interests. She learns and uses methods for germination (about 7000 samples of Triticum, etc.) to assess the seed viability. She performed all the operations preparatory to the conservation of germplasm: - inspection and cleaning of the samples from explorations;
- recording, coding, storing and checking with exploration sheets;
- sample preparation for multiplication and conservation in the short and long term
- using the knowledge of english and french provides distribution and exchange of accessions with several national and international institutions;
- working inventory of Genebank as well as the computerization of data;
- she collaborates to maintain relations with external parties such as schools or institutions in order to present the activities of the Genebank (for example “Festival della Scienza” Genova 2010, “18a Festa del Grano Buono” Rutigliano 2014, etc.).
In 2005-2007 she arranged the multiplication and the morpho-agronomic characterization of accessions of Triticum turanicum both in the field and in biometric laboratory.
She also worked on the study, management, breeding, characterization, propagation and conservation of a collection of Italian and Mediterranean ecotypes of Arabidopsis thaliana, a model plant of particular interest in plant genetics.
At present she is involved in three projects: PSR SaVeGraINPuglia and PSR BioDiverso for the safeguard of agrobiodiversity in Apulia region (2013-2015) and Solanum aethiopicum with ALSIA for characterization and classification (2014).
