  • From August 2011 responsible of the IBBR-UOS Portici’s research group of Agrobiotechnology of Sorghum.

Main Research Interests

  • Agrobiotechnology of the plant species Sorghum and its potential as nutraceutical and functional food for the improvement of the human health and disease prevention.
  • Extraction and characterization of food-grade white sorghum proteins.
  • Implementation of the innovative agri-food chain of the food-grade white sorghum in Campania for the production of bread, healthy food.
  • Development of the white-food-grade sorghum breeding in Italy.
  • The origin of mitochondria.
  • Study of diseases of mitochondrial origin using the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model organism.
