Research Interests

My main interests are focused on the effect of specific nutrients and active biomolecules, such as polyphenols on mitochondrial function and whether perturbation of the polyphenols can lead to diseases and cancer. In particular, my work is orientated on the identification and characterization of polyphenols in different models. Moreover, I’m interested on the role of these compounds in lipid signaling as well as on the use of carnitine derivatives as anticancer drugs based on their effects on the invasive potential of tumor cell lines.

Current Projects

The group’s major projects are:

  3. PON03PE_00106: Materiali Avanzati per la Ricerca ed il comparto Agroalimentare, Laboratorio Pubblico Privato - MAReA
