Main Research Interests

Genetic resources:

  • characterisation of germplasm segments of pulse and hulled wheat species;
  • evaluation of genetic variation within and among species of interest for Mediterranean agriculture by using biochemical techniques;
  • characterisation and evaluation of Italian landraces of legume species.

Seed quality:

  • evaluation of grain and meal composition for nutritional traits;
  • quantisation of anti-nutritional and toxic compounds in legume seeds.

Proteins:

  • analysis of protein fractions by using electrophoretic techniques (CE, SDS-PAGE and PAGE).
  • sequence analysis (including DNA sequences).

She is author of more than 190 scientific contributions, the 40% of which are papers published in international peer-reviewed journals and books.
